What’s A Food Pantry?

Did you know that a Lake County, IL food bank is not actually the same kind of organization as a food pantry? Food banks, including Northern Illinois Food Bank, build a food supply from the donations of food drives and partner organizations. This gets inventoried and distributed across soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and food pantries. These types of places give food directly to families in need, rather than to other resource centers. Because of the efforts of these places, the people of this county don’t have to worry about where their next meal will come from. This extends to receiving apparel, toiletries, baby products, and other options. Accomplish your free shopping by using a walk-in, drive-thru, or mobile method. Many of these establishments are even no-referral food banks/pantries, such as My Pantry Express.

What's My Pantry Express?

Of the local Lake County food pantry list, My Pantry Express: should be your number one choice. That’s because, once you learn a little more about us, it’s no surprise why we’re one of the most accessible ways to keep our neighborhood fed. Sponsored by Northern Illinois Food Bank, My Pantry Express revolutionizes your shopping experience by moving it all online. No referrals or qualifications needed either. Another perk is that the information collected while ordering should only include your name, phone number, email, and zip code. But even so, these details aren’t needed to put in an order. You may see dairy products, frozen meats, and/or fresh produce while navigating. Each item will display the quantity that you may select too.
